What “large-cat friendly” should mean
A machine can look large from the outside while offering limited turning space inside. Measure your cat from nose to base of tail, note shoulder height, and compare those measurements with the usable opening and interior—not only the product's total dimensions.
Why open-top designs often deserve a closer look
Open-top machines can reduce the feeling of confinement and give tall cats more headroom. They may also make it easier for owners to observe posture and litter habits. The tradeoff is that open designs can expose more odor or tracking depending on placement and litter choice.
