Sifted Paws scoring and recommendation rubric

Five categories keep buyer fit and research confidence visible.

Why the site avoids a single unexplained winner

Automatic litter boxes have incompatible strengths. A high-entry open top may be excellent for a large healthy cat and poor for a senior cat. A premium app may be valuable to one household and unwanted complexity to another.

The five-category rubric

Cat fitOpening, posture, entry height, enclosure style and manufacturer guidance.
Safety documentationSensor clarity, minimum weight, interruption behavior and manual detail.
Ownership frictionLitter constraints, cleaning access, consumables, noise claims and space.
Support confidenceManuals, warranty visibility, parts and support channels.
Value fitWhether the benefits justify the complexity for the target buyer.

How labels are assigned

Labels such as “best premium ecosystem” or “best app-free budget-oriented pick” refer to a defined buyer profile. They are not claims that the product is universally safest or best.
